Freedom Fest is a series of fun and competitive events to honor all Veterans
Founded in 2003 by Emporia Main Street and soldiers of the Kansas National Guard, the mission of Freedom Fest is to honor all Veterans and their families through a series of competitive, physical and community gathering events. Events include a run/walk, cycling rides, disc golf tournament, foot march, and warrior spur triple challenge. Freedom Fest is held annually in November on the Saturday before Veterans Day. All events start and end at the All Veterans Memorial in Emporia, Kansas.
Amazing Location
Emporia, Kansas is the founding city of Veterans day. The community celebrates All Veterans Tribute week every November, with a parade and other events, including Freedom Fest.
Freedom Fest events are held at the All Veterans Memorial at 931 South Commercial Street. This beautiful memorial park sits along the Cottonwood River and features a WWII Sherman tank, Huey helicopter, purple heart memorial, and tablets of honor display. The memorial was the first to honor all veterans from the Civil War through the Gulf War.
